Coffee and Honey from the Forests of Ethiopia
In Nono Sale, a district located in southwestern Ethiopia, the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) cooperates with local stakeholders to support the establishment of a sustainable production region. The sustainable production of forest goods, especially coffee and bee products, contributes to raising local incomes and protecting natural forests. Trainings and other measures are conducted to support farmers in improving the quality of their products. In close cooperation with the private sector and the Sustainable Agricultural Supply Chains Initiative (INA), market access for those forest products is improved.
