A uniform coffee policy covering all East African states is being sought to grow the coffee sector and gain market share at a global level. A meeting between Kenyan delegates and members of National Union of Coffee Agribusinesses and Farm Enterprises (NUCAFE) was told that low farmer cooperation is one of the hinderances to growth of the coffee industry in East Africa.
